The Lord said to Abram, get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will show thee.
Genesis 12, we need to listen to the call Abram heard #1 get out thy country, #2 get from thy kindred, #3 get from thy father’s house. The instructions were to get away from the formal things or from what we are use too.  And then God will show us a land.
And I will make thee a great nation, I will bless you, and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing.
After Abram began to move out on the Word of God, he went forth to go in the land of Canaan ( land of purple). Purple is a color of royalty it is made by adding blue and red together. Blue is another royal color and red stand for the blood.
The Lord appeared to Abram and said, unto thy seed will I give this land, “(The Land of Canaan,” the land of purple, Royalty).
O come on think about it!!
He passed through the land unto the place of Sichem unto the plain of Moreh.
Moreh means diviner ( the name of two places in the Old testament). It also mean a place of magic, sorcery, divination and occult practices, such as fortune-telling and witchcraft, which were common among the pagans. God gave the land to Abram. Yes in the land that God gave Abram was the Canaanite pagans.
God has given you, your land (the body). Who is living with you, that can have an impact on your actions and help to developed a taste of the pagan life?  Think about it.
Take a look at Abram, The Lord appeared to him and said, unto thy seed will I give this land. There Abram built an altar unto the Lord, who appeared unto him. Notice he built an altar unto the Lord who appeared to him, this mean that other Gods were in the land. No doubt the pagan had their Gods.
Abram removed himself from there unto a mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, and there he built an altar unto the Lord, and called upon the name of the Lord.
Bethel: Mean House of God.
Look at the progression of God in Abram life. God called or spoke to him first, after he began to move out on The Spoken Word; God appeared unto him, in other words, God showed up.
Abram journey continue on. There was a famine in the land and Abram went down into Egypt for the famine was grievous in the land and God allowed it.
Just as in the days of Abram, we are experiencing a famine in the land (THE TRUE WORD OF GOD with out hooks) and the famine is grievous. As Abram had to come out of Egypt, in like manner we must come out of Egypt
When Abram was near to the entrance of Egypt he came up with a lie. He told Sarai his wife to say she was his sister, leaving out the part she was his wife. He feared for his own life; Because of this lie, Pharaoh and his people were going to pay a price for this deception.
The Lord plagued Pharaoh and his house with a great plague because of Sarai, Abram’s wife.
Pharaoh sent Abram his wife back and all he had. Abram went out of Egypt, but he was very rich in cattle, silver and gold.
There is no record of how long Abram was in Egypt, and there is no indication that he ever worshiped the Lord in Egypt either. He never build an altar there. If we were to look at his pattern, other than in Egypt, every where else Abram journeyed he built an altar.
After Abram left Egypt, he journeyed back to Bethel unto the place where his tent had been at the beginning. Abram called on the name of the Lord at the altar, which he had first made. The phrases “at the beginning and at the first” indicate that he needed to make a new start.
Bethel :Mean House of God
There must be an exit out of the land of Egypt (the world system) to return to the House Of God and we must be faced with the altar experience. The altar is the place of dying; a place where the flesh is dealt with.
Who are we effecting by hanging around in Egypt with our lives, who will be plagued? I’ll tell you who, its the people of Egypt, the ones that lives in deception or it can be you who is deceived. Was that not the case in Abram day?
Take a look at this phrase ” You can take a man out of Egypt, but you can not take Egypt out of man, referring to the tastes he developed in Egypt”.
Think on this!!
